Yasmine is sat at her desk with a cup of coffee and her sewing machine. Behind her is a peg board holding scissors, embroidery hoops, and other sewing supplies. We can also see behind her the picture of her Nana holding her as a toddler.

Hello, I am Yasmine Zoe, and I am a seamstress and costume designer. I create all kinds of looks, from screen replica cosplays to original designs of all kinds. I have a passion for historically inspired looks as well as cool comfy clothing that can be worn day to day. I love making custom looks and am available for commissioned works, as well as alterations and repairs - so feel free to enquire.

Why I sew…

My Grandparents were very influential to me growing up, and it was my Nana who taught me to sew. When I was really little, as little as I was in this picture, she would thread a plastic wool needle with a piece of yarn - and help me guide it through holes she had cut in scraps of fabric. Then when I was 11 years old, she taught me how to use her sewing machine - which I then commandeered for use on my own projects.

For my 12th birthday, my amazing parents got me my dressmakers mannequin - who I have named Dorothy - and I have had her ever since. This helped my sewing evolve even more. Then, when I turned 13 - my grandparents got me my first sewing machine, and after 2 years - Nana could have hers back.

My creativity continued to evolve and I loved making costumes for school dance shows and house competitions. Then, when I went off to musical theatre college - I met a friend who introduced me to the world of Comic Con’s - something that until then had always seemed so cool, yet so far away. That was when I started making cosplays. This was a new world of costume making that I opened myself up to and I loved it. I started looking at Pop Culture costuming that I loved and that is when I realised my love for historical fashion.

Now, I am fortunate enough to be able to pursue all of my passions, including performing and dressmaking. I am available for commissioned work and love to work on new and interesting projects.

I hope I am able to do this for many years to come.
