Hawkgirl
Having watched hours of superheroes on screen, on both Television and Film, it shows how incredible the costume designers are for translating the comic book designs into practical garments. So I have taken an image of Hawkgirl that I love, and used it to inspire this costume.
My initial inspiration. IMAGE NOT MY PROPERTY. IMAGE BY JIM LEE.

My initial sketch

I used a neoprene fabric for ease of movement, but to give more protection than lycra would. I used leatherette on only the chest and back, to give those areas more protection, and to make the costume more visually exciting.

Duel zips were used for ease of wearing, as well as aesthetics. A lot of superhero costumes have no visual way to get in or out of them, and no way for getting them on or off quickly or efficiently. So I decided to use the zips as a focal point to change this look from comic book designs.

I made straps on the back with seatbelt material, so it would be sturdy and visually pleasing. This is where Hawkgirl could keep her weapons stored.

The emblem I made for the chest is inspired by the classic Hawkgirl cowl - as oppose to the hawk symbol that is used in many of the versions - this was to tie in the iconic symbol without having the cowl itself.
